HebeWorks and the City Talking have published a new data-driven feature on Air Quality in Leeds. The interactive site takes environmental and air quality data from the Leeds Data Mill to create data visualisations.

“We wanted to know about nitrogen dioxide and air quality in Leeds, and we know that if you want to know what’s really going on in Leeds, you need to go to the Town Hall, and ask a lion”

It compares NO2 data from various sources as well as environmental data to produce an environmental picture of  Leeds built from 48 million rows of Open Data.

The data reveals some interesting facts . On the day of the Grand Départ for example ” when cars were banned from the centre of Leeds and cyclists took over, NO2 levels dropped by 20%.”
