Nesta have published new research that aims to highlight patterns in local authority open data publication
The map takes into consideration a number of factors to score local authorities and other data providers which they’ve then mapped. The methodology is interesting. For example:
“Local authority sites were excluded even if these had an open data page, as these varied widely in content and usability making it difficult to objectively assign a value”
If nothing else this research highlights the inconsistencies in open data publishing and quality across authorities.
Well worth a read through.
